Obrigado pelo texto Dra Renata!Muito bom, vou ler o artigo o citado.

Nessa mesma linha, já ouvi uma palestra e achei um trabalho muito interessante.

Title: "Broken Mirrors: A Theory of Autism"

• Authors: Ramachandran, V. S. & Oberman, L. M.

• Publication: Scientific American, 2006.

This article proposes the "Broken Mirror Theory" of autism, which suggests that a dysfunction in the Mirror Neuron System (MNS) is responsible for the social and communication deficits in ASD, including issues with empathy, imitation, and understanding others' intentions. Since MNS activity is crucial for distinguishing between self and other, its impairment is fundamentally linked to the perception of one's body in relation to others (body space and proximity).

2. The Primary Empirical Study

The EEG research that provided the initial data for the "Broken Mirror" hypothesis is:

• Title: "EEG evidence for mirror neuron dysfunction in autism spectrum disorders"

• Authors: Oberman, L. M., Hubbard, E. M., McCleery, J. P., Altschuler, E. L., Ramachandran, V. S., & Pineda J. A.

• Publication: Cognitive Brain Research, 2005.

This study uses Mu-rhythm suppression (an EEG measure thought to indirectly reflect MNS activity) to demonstrate reduced mirror neuron activity in individuals with ASD compared to neurotypical controls.

Se eu achar a palestra, vou colocar em anexo para quem tenha interesse.

🙏
